Easier said than done

1. What is it that makes it difficult for you to make the decisions that you know you need to make in your life?
2. What situation are you in that you know you must get out of but you can't seem to make that decision?
3. Is it that you fear change?
4. Have you grown complacent, accepting your current situation?
5. Are you just not ready to make the decision?

I believe that we all have those situations in our lives and talk about some and bottle some in (depending on how we feel about those situations). I know I have many decisions to make in my life. I recall coming out of my teens and feeling on top of the world. If something had to be done I did it regardless of consequences (ppl often felt that they were expendable in my eyes and often they were). I felt that once you knew the right thing to do, JUST DO IT!! What's the big deal? I'd get all upset with friends after I gave them advice about how to deal with a problem and they didn't listen. They'd say "it's easier said than done". I would retort, "No one said it would be easy! Get off your ass and get it done!"

Needless to say I was considered cold, yet they still came to me for advice. Because I made sense. Some said they admired the strength I showed. They felt guilty about not being able to make the decisions and I always made it sound..... so easy.... till they got home and had to take the decision.

From feedback I learned to be less rigid and use softer words and tried to empower persons to make the decisions that knew they had to. One of the things I knew from before and was confirmed when I did psychology and later as I sought to build a relationship with God, was that we need to reinforce positive messages and ignore negative messages. "It isn't easy" is a factual statement not an excuse to vacillate. We need to:
1. Stop finding excuses
2. Encourage ourselves and
3. Surround ourselves with positive messages always.

It comes with practice. The same way we learn songs (notes and then looking for patterns and then memorizing until we are comfortable and then we feel the music) is the same way we will learn to think positively.

Slips will come! Another fact. When it happens:
1. kiss yu teet
2. shout out 'CHO backside man' (or whatever)
3. stamp your feet
4. sigh
5. force yourself to think about how to get back on track

Remember that we are all empowered. We can do it (whatever it means for you). One foot in front of the other. Positive thoughts, positive actions, positive living. Peace!

Selah!!

I have suffered from the Procrastination bug for a while...however, I have been working on it. I have not been fully cured (have a 'little' way to go).

Thing is, we know what we need to do. Yet, it isn't so easy. As you said, the more we practice ignoring the little "devil" telling us not to do it, then the easier it should become.

Sometimes it helps when we have someone pushing/helping us to make the tough decisions.
