Gender Gap

They say the differences in cognitive development between boys and girls is actually larger than we first thought.

1. Girls hear 7 times better than boys.

2. Language areas develop in girls before spatial relations and geometry while it's the reverse in boys.

3. Emotion processed in same area as language in girls and different area for boys.

4. Stress enhances learning in boys while retarding it in girls.

Remember these are general statements from a US-based study that I haven't found the measuring parameters or sample descriptives for as yet. But it is interesting to note and explains why boys tend to do better at math and girls at english. Many of us may have done differently because we were stimulated differently. I for one have no problems with language because my mom worked that out of me. Expressing emotions comes easier because I have the words available ...... I just don't want to use them.
