Welcome to my wireless network!

I am tickled pink (quite a sight to see) at the working of my home network. From 2001 I have been trying to get my network up and running. Back then I had a:
Pentium Pro 166Mhz that I ws trying to over-clock to 200Mhz
128 Mb SIMM
52X CDROM
Vuego Brisa scanner
Canon BJC 250
...... i can't remember the other specs.

I then got my Athlon. The plan was to network them. So I bought a LinkSys Etherfast Hub. Only to be told that I should have got a switch. Someting about not smart enough to sense which node was active and collisions and what-not Didn't matter I went ahead and set them up. Win 98 and Win Me didn't seem to have a problem with each other however, the ICS was not working at all.

I even hooked up a laptop to my network but it wasn't running at the blistering speeds I had expected. Before I could sort things out properly, my trusty work-horse Pentium Pro gave out and I had to put her to sleep. I took out her guts and placed them in the Athlon and she lived on in her.

So my network dreams were dashed. I collected parts with the intention of a Frankenstein job but as I collected so did others need the parts and the what-lef were certainly dated.

So today the J2 Ltd guys scaled my wall and changed the antenae on my roof and configured my router and then my work began. I decided that I needed a challenge so as I configured the router to accept only certain Mac addresses, I entered the Mac address of the machine turned off. This meant that the machine now up and running was now blocked from the network. Darwin awards?!

So I reset the router and re-programmed it and this time put in all the machines. However, Athlon just refused to stay on-line! So since the plan was to hook her up wireless anyway, I just put in the wireless PCI adapter and added that Mac address to the list. Then she sang!

So now I am configured. Next is to move her upstairs and see how much signal strength I've got through them there walls.

Batter up!!!
