Should Jamaica continue to strenthen ties with Venuezuela?

Trinidad doesn't seem to want to sell us oil cheaply. Chavez would like to sell poor countries oil cheaply. US hogs the oil and keeps driving up oil prices which our economy can't afford. US has their own oil and still buys lots of oil to make sure that they have 20yrs supply in storage. If 1 oil tanker reach Kingston Harbour late, we have island wide power-cut.

Sounds like there just may be a benefit to us getting oil from Venezuela cheaply!

If we continue to be chummy with Chavez (who keeps teasing poor Georgie-Porgie) then we may face sanctions from the might USA. That would mean trade embargoes and travel restrictions and reduced access to aid and general bad-name of Jamaicans.....
