Acceptance

We develop self awareness very early in the game of life. But our understanding of death doesn't begin to compute until age 8yrs. After that we are fighting to ensure that death doesn't reach us until we are good and ready....... which is usually never.

We often hear older folks say things that suggest that they accept that their day is coming. But if we hear young people stating the same we think they are fatalistic or suicidal. Yet we all, know that no day is guaranteed us. We try not to think about it and we pretend that we have all the time in the world. We make plans for the future, months and years in advance because we figure that we have the time to make it happen andits only delays that can beset us.

But what if you were suddenly aware that next week was not for you? Maybe you have some illness that would make you face that possibility. But what if all you had to go on was a feeling? Similar to a feeling to go visit a friend and you get there just in time to assist them with something. How would you react? It's scary if you never thought about your own mortality or accepted it.

Why would I think that tomorrow is for me or not for me? It's easy to believe it is for you because that's what you are used to. Afterall when last did you wake up dead? It's really not a thing that occurs as often as one might think in any one person's lifetime. Pretty much you get one shot at it..... despite the fact that for some it was a one shot that placed them there.

To face that day with strength, dignity, acceptance, and God's peace is what I wish for all. In order to achieve that we have to maximize each day. We have to take our lives seriously and take others seriously as well. Taking your life seriously means making each day count. Laugh if you have to. Cry if you have to. Help all those you can. Avoid negativity! Don't waste opportunities. Don't put off for tomorrow. Enjoy your life.... all the ups and not so ups.

NOTHING should dispell your peace. NOONE should be allowed to upset you. NO SITUATION should be allowed to upset you. If tomorrow is your day, you don't have time for regrets!

Selah!!

Beautiful post.

The only way to live is not to think of death. It is a scary though to know that one day you won't be on the face of the earth, and that day can be any bright and sunny day!

Be thankfull for everyday that you're blessed with.
